3 New Cars We Loved From 2017

The 2017-2018 model year saw a host of new vehicles hit the streets and while some were standard fare, others were exceptional. Out of all the new models to roll off the line in 2017 we picked three that we like best.

Civic Type-R

Likely our favorite new car for 2017 was the Honda Civic Type-R. This car has been meeting the needs of driving enthusiasts and tuners in Europe and Japan for years and 2017 marks the first time it has graced American shores.

The 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, sport tuned suspension and upgraded brakes and chassis make for the fastest Civic model ever. In fact, the Type-R proved its mettle by crushing the FWD lap record on the famed Nurburgring.

2018 Kia Stinger

If you told us 5 years ago that Kia would be receiving AutoGuide’s Car Of The Year award, we would have thought you had been huffing paint. After all, this is the same company that brought us the Kia Soul filled with man-sized gerbils. We certainly did not expect to see a high-end touring sedan coming from the Korean automaker.

Then Kia introduced the Stinger GT with a 3.3 litre V-6 mated with twin turbos and zero to sixty times in the sub-five-second range; all this wrapped in a touring sedan that one might confuse with a BMW or Audi. Not bad for a vehicle that you can buy for under $50 grand.

Lexus LC500

The Lexus LC-500 made the list on looks alone; this is a seriously beautiful car! While it is no where near the fastest car in its class, the LC will still get you from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds and it will do it in style!

In the case of the LC-500 beauty is not just skin deep. Step inside the cockpit and you’ll be wrapped in subtle leathers and quality trim. This is after all a luxury car and Lexus knows how to build luxury.
